This internet project connects cultural and research institutions to facilitate multipoint data distribution for co-organizing events. This video-chat technology affords a sense of shared habitation by transmitting computer generated images back and forth via high-resolution video files between different facilities' entrances and gallery spaces. When visitors move in front of this video chat system, a computer generated CG images of their presence is composed over the video image. The CG images depicts the characteristics of the institution in an easy to understand manner, so that by sending the imagery to a tele-distant other, a "trigger" for communication is proposed.
This project uses NTT's optical fiber broadband service 'B FLET'S,' in common use in public infrastructure.
