"Corpora.prospect" is a site-specific project that involves placement of three weather sensors outdoors at Tokyo Opera City, where ICC is located. These sensors capture weather changes in real time to present a virtual structure (Tokyo Opera City) as it undergoes moment-by-moment changes. Temperature, wind direction, wind speed, and other data are fed into the vast number of nodes in the wireframe of the structure. Each of the nodes autonomously judges environmental conditions and the stability of the structure, based on which the structure as a whole (the Corpora) then expands or contracts, continuously. Instead of the usual bird's eye view using Cartesian coordinates, dNA uses the system of polar coordinates for its spatial notation; that permits the structure to be viewed from any point within it. Applying this new notation to each of the nodes gives each its own "Super Eye" perspective and allows them to interact to produce a complex whole. Acquiring data on dynamically changing natural phenomena, the project entrusts the form to distributed processing to present, experimentally the possibilities of architecture that has never existed before, transcending existing architectures. doubleNegatives Architecture Profile This architectural group was founded in 1998. It positions architecture as spatial measuring machines and processes. The members of the group change with each project; its distinctive activities cut across both the hard and soft aspects in installations, software, and architectural design. Since 2004 it has produced a series of "Corpora" projects using self-generating forms. "Corpora.proceed(sky)" was exhibited at ICC in 2005. In 2007, "Corpora in Si(gh)te (CiS)," which uses a mesh network form of a distributed sensing system, was exhibited at the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media (YCAM). It was then selected in 2008 to be Hungary's representative at the 11th Venice Architecture Biennale.
