Moriwaki was born in 1964 and graduated the University of Tsukuba with a master's degree in Art and Design. As an artist who has a forte for LED (light emitting diode, a device for signs), he has been expanding the field of light art and treasures collaborations with the artists from other field such as fashion and performance. He is currently working on highly interactive works that employ the bodies of its viewers. Some of his works had been exhibited at: Images du futur '94 in Montreal, Nagoya International Biennale "ARTEC '95" (Second Grand Prix winner), and ICC Open Workshop "It flashes! It moves! It's phantaemagorical?" (1994).
