For the achievements of the ARTSAT Project, he was awarded the 66th Minister of Education Award for Fine Arts (Media Arts Division). His publications include “Vanishing Computer (消えゆくコンピュータ)” (Iwanami Shoten, 1999), “Design for Distant Others: The Thought and Practice of Akihiro Kubota (遥かなる他者のためのデザイン─久保田晃弘の思索と実装)” (BNN, 2017), “Principles of Media Art (メディア・アート原論)” (co-editor, Film Art, 2018), “Instagram and Contemporary Visual Culture (インスタグラムと現代視覚文化論)” (co-editor, BNN, 2018), and “Quantum Computer Art Studies” (2026), among others.
