Artists
AOYAGI Natsumi
Born in 1990. AOYAGI aims to express her own experiences surrounding observation, documentation, and storytelling through repeated research and fieldwork, focusing on how to convey the impossibility of these endeavors through recorded media. Her recent activities include solo exhibition “Logbook of a Sea Goddess” (Towada Art Center, 2022), online project “TWO PRIVATE ROOMS—A Circle of Reading” (2020–), and Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions 2018 (Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, 2018). She won the 28th Nakahara Chuya Prize for her poetry collection “Sodatsu no wo Yameru (Done Being Nurtured)” (thoasa, 2022). She is the organizer of the practitioner collective honkbooks.
HOSOI Miyu
Born in 1993. In addition to her multi-tracked works featuring her own voice, she creates sound installations using multi-channel audio, outdoor installations, and stage works, focusing on sound that transforms spatial perception and situations. To date, she has released her works at ICC anechoic room, Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media [YCAM], International Commission for Acoustics (ICA), Nagano Prefectural Art Museum, Aichi Prefectural Art Theater, Haneda Airport, and Hibiya Park.
