Together with the Ars Electronica Futurelab and other cultural organizations and firms in Japan and abroad, the NTT laboratories are presently engaging in research and development activities related to technological infrastructures for improved user experience and communication.

“Research Complex NTT R&D @ICC” showcases the advanced endeavors of the NTT laboratories in exhibitions at ICC, around the NTT Service Evolution Laboratories 2020 Epoch-making Project as a centerpiece. The project was installed as a vehicle for continuous activities with the aim to work out future concepts for mankind and human society based on dialogue between science/technology and art/culture.

“Research Complex” is supposed to provide a stage for complex research and development, integrating the function of ICC as an open cultural facility, and interaction with resources also outside the NTT laboratories, including specially invited intellectuals and other external “visionaries.”
