Playing musical instruments arranged in the exhibition space triggers the appearance of characters that move according to the respective instrument’s sounds. These characters behave individually in different ways, depending also on such things as rhythms played on the instruments. As each character is a visual representation of the respective sound, visitors can enjoy the performance and the sound of the instruments by just looking at what the characters do. The title of this work is a combination of the onomatopoeic word “ratatat” that describes the sound of a percussion instrument, and “tap.”
