Date: April 20th Sunday 14:00 - 16:00
Venue: Tokyo Opera City, B1 Recital Hall

Panelists: Karl SIMS, NAKAMURA Keiko, Thomas S. RAY

Biological evolution is nothing less than the process that has given birth to a multiplicity of life forms on the planet. It just might turn out to be most superior method of creativity.
In this session, we will discuss the future possibilities and thematics of the latest computer science by introducing the recent involvements with the most up-to-date computer science concerned with artificial life and conductive artificial intelligence such as; "Cyber Darwin" by Karl SIMS, a work that realized the evolutionary process of transformation and selection through the interface between humans and computers; the "biohistory" that gives an overview of the great drama of biological evolution; "Tierra," the digital ecosystem where digital lives can evolve freely and create new worlds; and an autonomous agency where people in virtual space can enjoy interaction with virtual creatures.
