Venue: Tokyo Opera City, B1 Recital Hall

Contemporary media has expanded the function of communication between senders/receivers and authors/audiences to such an extent that we can no longer disregard the importance of interactivity. As the technology of the interface has become more adaptable, complex and diversified, virtual communication utilizing all human senses has become possible for the first time. How then has interactive communication transformed the essence and function of art and culture? How has it deepened the understanding of human interaction? Where will the crossings of these media and interactive art proceed to next? Our discussion will range from an analysis of the present situation to the visions of the future.
