‘Counting Appearances First Lesson’ [2016]

TOKISATO Mitsuru

‘Counting Appearances First Lesson’

Outline

From events occurring in the images, a counter installed in front of a monitor only counts phenomena that are displayed within the images’ frame. This does not include human guesses. Even if things that are occurring in front of their eyes disappear from sight, humans are capable of recognizing and counting them as if the events are continuing based on the continuity of sensible phenomena. What can you find by looking at differences between the number counted by the counter and that estimated by the images?
