The BendedCameraGroup produces photographs taken with digital cameras that have been prepared through circuit bending*. By short-circuiting their cameras’ circuits, the members create pictures that contain optical noise reflecting the electrical signals in the cameras’ interiors.
The appearances of (internal) electric signals alongside of (external) subjects make these photographs quite particular images in which the differentiation of inside and outside is blurred due to the absence of mechanical shutters in digital cameras.
*Circuit bending: Technique of short-circuiting electronic devices in order to cause intentional malfunction.
