TANAKA Hiroya

Profile

Born in 1975. Graduate of Kyoto University: with a degree from Faculty of Integrated Human Studies, completed Graduate School of Human and Environmental Studies. Studied at Center for Spatial Information Science, The University of Tokyo, and enrolled as a researcher at Graduate School of Informatics, Kyoto University. Currently, he is an associate professor at Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Keio University, and a part-time researcher at International Media Research Foundation. Holds Doctor of Engineering degree from The University of Tokyo. Co-founded "tEnt", an environmental device development unit. He creates devices and software that introduces new spatial representation using digital media. "Call ⇔ Response by tEnt (TANAKA Hiroya + CUHARA Macoto), previously shown in "Silent Dialogue" exhibition at ICC (2007-08), was granted Honorary Mention for Hybrid Art category at "Prix Ars Electronica 2008".
