Group of researchers dedicated to the practical application of theories and techniques developed through studies into “alternative life (ALife).” Being the world’s only tech enterprise that specializes in ALife, they team up with ALife researchers from Japan and abroad, to explore ways of developing new technologies imbued with qualities of “life” such as autonomy and flexibility, love and friendliness, and a sense of presence, rather than pursuing technology for the sake of optimization and efficiency, according to their mission to “install life’s principles into all kinds of things.” Next to theoretical and practical research and development in the realm of ALife, they are also involved in the development of products based on concepts and technologies of ALife, and in the creation of artworks.
