"Mother May I"
1993

acrylic paint, urethane foam, steel, motor, strobe light
60 X 48 inches diameter
Courtesy: the artist

IHuman hands appear out of earth or chunk of flesh. They pick organic life (eggs) out of the earth then crush them. Here you find the endless ring of life and destruction (death). There is a hidden image of mother earth (the earth goddess) where life is born and the dead return (or take a rest), or where new life is born in exchange of the dead. The artist presents this primordial image in the lake (slime) in the center of≪Dipping Digits (Always Gets Wet)≫.
