The protagonist in this game is Edith, a 17-year-old girl and the only surviving member of her family. She returns to her family’s strangely extended house, and through her contact with various articles left behind there she relives the experiences of the respective family members and thereby learns about the circumstances of their deaths. Among the sceneries depicted from the girl’s point of view, monologue texts appear on the screen that is otherwise tinted with a gentle yet noisy clamor whenever Edith finds herself on the brink of death in her relived experiences. The storytelling from peculiarly changing viewpoints can be understood as an extension from the realm of games into those of cinema or literature, and fully displays the potential of the genre of “walking simulator” games.
