This is a part of an assembly of works that embed movement to inorganic material and associate its behaviors with that of living creatures. In this work, we focus on the material characteristics of magnets. A group of magnetic spheres are placed on a platform with a built-in array of electromagnets. The magnetic force produced by the platform controls the magnets movement and deformation. In addition to the exhibited work, we have also developed a version that responds to the viewer’s gestures.
