YAMAOKA Junichi + KAKEHI Yasuaki

Cube is a transformable kinetic structure which physically deforms into geometric shapes that can be expressed in computer graphics. This work consists of rubber string, gut, motors and a control device. By controlling 8 motors attached to an outer frame, the cube made of rubber can move parallelly and deform into various shapes such as a trapezoid and a plane. It can be applied to creating a deformable space according to a person’s movement or size and architecture.
