Time Table (PDF)

As the venue for her “Breath or Echo” installation during the Sapporo International Art Festival 2017, MOHRI Yuko used the narrow, 100-meter-long space of Sapporo City University’s “Skyway” elevated walkway (designed by SEIKE Kiyoshi). “After the Echo” is a video piece capturing a performance during the exhibition by SAKAMOTO Ryuichi and Norwegian artist Camille NORMENT.

The pair held an improvised performance within MOHRI’s installation space, which consisted of the installation’s automated piano performing music composed by SAKAMOTO and NORMENT reciting poetry written by SUNAZAWA Bikky. Captured on video are various interconnected auditory spaces, including the renditions of the modified upright piano—a component of MOHRI’s composition—played by directly plucking its strings, NORMENT’s glass armonica performance, and MOHRI’s sound installation audio.
