UMEDA Hiroaki


Choreographer, dancer, visual artist. Since 2002, his choreographed works have been staged at the Chaillot National Theater in Paris and other places around the world, the total number of which amounts to more than 150 cities in 40 countries. In addition to choreography and dance, in his own works he takes also charge of sound, imagery and lighting design, the results of which have been exhibited not only in the realm of dance, but also in such contexts as technology art and music. In recent years he has been creating various installations with a special focus on physical sensation, as well as video works that were featured in the “AUDIO ARCHITECTURE” exhibition at 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT in 2018, and other video works based on his own dance pieces that have been shown as dome projections at festivals around the world.
