Born in 1952, Sasaki Masato left the doctoral program at Tsukuba University in 1980. A specialist in ecological psychology, he was a teaching assistant at Tsukuba University and an assistant professor at Waseda University before becoming a professor in the Graduate School of Education, University of Tokyo.
