SANO was formerly a solid state scientist and is currently engaged in the promotion of the results of NTT Laboratories research. She joined Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation in 1988 and currently works at the NTT Service Integration Laboratories. She has a doctorate degree in engineering.
