IIDA's work focus on computer simulation of natural phenomena including fluid mechanics and wind power generation, as well as Measurement Engineering, Real-world-oriented Information Environments, research on human interface, and creation of interactive media. He developed Strino, a Real-Time Strain Measurement system using pre-existing natural objects as interface. He currently teaches as a assistant professor at School of Engineering at the University of Tokyo.
