ICC Kids Program 2011 Trans-scale: Changing our frames of reference

TOKOLO Asao "kumapon(g)" 2011

The golden ratio (approximately 1.6180339887) is an irrational mathematical constant said to provide more stable and beautiful proportions in architecture and the visual arts. The "kumapon(g)" are bear figures drawn using circles which adhere to the golden ratio. You can add circles or color-coding also according to the golden ratio and change the bears' aspects. In this ICC presentation, you will be able to create your own kumapon(g) animations as well. Playing with kumapon(g) helps reveal the mysterious charm of the golden ratio.
