The life sciences, information technology, and other areas of specialized knowledge now have enormous impact on society. Those bodies of knowledge directly affect our everyday lives. How, then, should we select, retrieve, and use knowledge formerly restricted to closed groups of specialists? What role do museums have in this process? Author Aramata Hiroshi, whose work ranges from mysticism to the magic of Harry Potter, and Sakura Osamu, an evolutionary biologist on the faculty of the University of Tokyo, discuss these issues in a conversation to be published in InterCommunication.
