Various-sized containers with blue-on-white designs that remind us
of purity, bob and float on gently flowing currents of water in blue
vinyl pools. When the semitransparent, glassy edges of these objects
brush against one another, they give off a clear sound -- a tranquil,
soothing consonance like the sound of distant church bells. Careful
tuning by making minor changes in water temperature, adjusting the
speed of the current as well as altering the types and combinations
of the containers create subtle visual effects. This is a sound installation
that will cleanse and purify the senses of visitors in the exhibition
space.
