| "Hanabi Fireworks"
|
|
This work is a video installation using three large multi-screens.
Logo marks of well-known movie companies appear on the screens like
apparitions floating in mid-air. The logos then transform into a scene
of gorgeous fireworks, unfolding a spectacle before our eyes. Through
this spectacular sight, the ideas of the "individual" and
"community" in our society, as well as the idea of modern
age come into play, and while the cinematic logos which symbolize
the 20th century disperse into particles and reform into fireworks,
a festive mood to celebrate the end of this century can be felt. The
sound design of this work was done by Mayo Thompson.
