Workshop Animation Workshop: "See with your fingers, Touch with your eyes" Date: July 19 (Sat.) and July 20 (Sun.), 2008, 2:00pm - 5:00pm [Finished]
Instructors: SAITO Tatsuya (SATO Lab.) + IDAKA Kumiko (SATO Lab.)
With the arrival of the iPod touch, it has become much easier to control images with a touch panel. This change of interface has caused a broadening of new potential for enjoying and creating the content inside. In this workshop stop-motion still images are the basic material, and by touching the iPod touch screens, the viewer can make animations which can be freely controlled frame-by-frame. You feel a sense of familiarity in animating the subject within the image using your fingers. This is an attempt to search for new potentials in moving image expression quite unlike television or the cinema. (Cooperation: TOKUI Nao) | >Details |
Handicraft Workshop: "Kikai-no-Moto (Machine Elements) " Date: August 10 (Sun.), 2008, 1:00pm - 5:00pm [Finished]
Instructors: SATO Masahiko (Professor, Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts), KIRIYAMA Takashi (Associate professor, Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts)
This workshop is for ages from middle school up through university. The challenge is to take what can be considered the smallest elements of machines to build assemblies and forms, which will produce complex movements. Observing the properties of "Kikai-no-Moto," we may discover fascinating forms and movements. This workshop may serve as an opportunity to attend the compilation of knowledge found in everyday things.
