Particles of color on a gigantic screen dance about as if dancing in the wind; the sight also looks like a scene from inside a blizzard. This is the latest installation from an artist who has focused on irregular movements that occur in nature and regular movements that exist within cities to reconstruct the rhythms that intervene between these using imagery, and has created films structured like music by capturing the randomly occurring movements of humans and objects.

KOGANEZAWA Takehito
Born in Tokyo in 1974, KOGANEZAWA graduated from Musashino Art University in 1998, following which he studied in Germany on a Pola Art Foundation grant in 1999 on the Japanese Government Overseas Study Program for Artists provided by the Agency for Cultural Affairs for 3 year beginning in 2001. From his base in Berlin, KOGANEZAWA produces and presents works all over the world. In creating his works, he uses a diversity of methods, such as works focusing on "movement and time," installations that visually reveal the generation of music, and drawings that he says are daily practice for extemporization.
