"The Bell and the Glass"
2003
Christian MARCLAY

This work combines archival images of the Liberty Bell rung to celebrate America's Declaration of Independence and Marcel Duchamp's The Bride Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors, Even (The Large Glass). At first glance, they seem unrelated. Then we notice a humorous connection: both are cracked. The work can also present a performance of Duchamp's words.
This artist's work continually challenges the boundaries between auditory and visual, high art and low art, objet and performance, the private and the public.

These works in below are exhibited as a part of the work.
