Iara LEE, rising film maker who
is based in New York attempts to unite two contrasting art forms of
contemporary architecture and electronic music through images. "ARCHITETTURA"
is a multiple Events/ featuring films by iara lee and live electronic
Performances by Caipirinha Musicians, PANACEA, SOMATIC ATAU TANAKA,
and CINEPLEXX, as well as a slide show.
As of today, four works of the CD series "ARCHITETTURA" have been
released. Each work consists of electronic music ranging from abstract
ambient to beat based explorations by artists such as Savvas YSATIS
and Taylor Deupree, Tetsu Inoue, David Toop, Panacea, inspired by
the architecture of ITO Toyo, Nicholas Grimshaw, Hasegawa Itsuko and
Oscar Niemeyer.
The film work by Iara LEE which will be shown in the theater is an
omnibus comprised of four short pieces. Cuts of various architecture
from around the world are edited into a work of collaboration between
images and electronic music.
Artists from Caipirinha Productions (http://www.caipirinha.com/)
which Iara Lee heads will create new bridges between architecture
and electronic music at the ICC Events/. Apart from Panacea who participated
in the CD series, included are others such as Hahn Rowe (aka Somatic),
a Korean musician active in New York, Atau Tanaka who is a member
of the Sensorband, and Cineplexx.
"ARCHITETTURA" will be shown in the theater every Friday between August
25 and September 29. There will be three showings on each night from
6:00pm, 7:00pm, and 8:00pm. The film work "Experience in Material
No. 35 Clairière, Creux, Vide" by architect Suzuki Ryoji (1992/15
min./16mm) will also be shown at the same hours.
