Dialogue de l'ombre double
Excerpts from Dialogue de l'ombre double
Dialogue de l'omble double (1982-5) takes its title from Claudel's Soulier de satin and is a fragment of the revised version of Domaines (1968-9). The soloist has six books which can be played in various different sequences, and the pre-recorded clarinet answers with transitions which are broadcast over six loudspeakers encircling the audience. The piece was written as a homage to the composer Luciano Berio on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday.
