In the digital world around us, boundaries of different realms appear
as distinct landscapes. Participants in this workshop will enjoy the
transformation of their own body into a new medium of expression wearing
an interface that synthesizes imagery and sound. The improvised imagery
and sound produced in the workshop will be simultaneously recorded
on VHS tape and given to the participants.
*From a TV phone traveling in an unforeseen place, performers receive
instructions by which they awkwardly move their limbs producing images.
The performance--running counter to the evolution of interface--appears
comical, within which a gradual exchange occurs between the perfect
body, visualized through digitalization, and the real body, that in
spite of its physicality cannot help but float in memories. (TSUBAKI
Noboru)
