OKABE Toshihiko, a media artist who creates huge
installations from junk and produces mysterious performances, has placed large scale installations in the Tokyo Opera City space. Based on the layer structure of the building, each installations includes a stage to express the steps in the evolution of psychological structure. His work transforms the entire hall into an "Ship for evolution." With his sound group, Neutral Productions, Okabe produces a mysterious performance using his installation as a ceremonial space.
