"NATURAL PROCESS" 2004
exonemo

Installation centering around exonemo's first ever painting work, "A Web Page." The painting is filmed with a web camera as it is on display at the exhibition, and this footage is broadcast in real-time via the Internet. The work was originally conceived as a process that encompasses the transformation of a web page into a painting, the display (installation) of the resulting work at a museum, the filming of the work (along with images of the surrounding exhibition space), and the conversion back into digital data that are finally re-uploaded to the Internet. The artists are planning to update the work in the course of this exhibition.

>> exonemo
Artist group formed in 1996 by SEMBO Kensuke and AKAIWA Yae. While flexibly straddling the realms of digital and analogue, network and real environments, the artists have been exposing the relationship between technologies and their users, engaging in numerous experimental projects that reflect the impact of digital media on today's society from a fresh point of view, and with a distinctly humorous edge. In 2006, "The Road Movie" was awarded a Golden Nica in the Net Vision category at Ars Electronica.
