"Legible City"
1989
Jeffrey SHAW

"Legible City" invites visitors to cycle in neighborhoods of Manhattan, Amsterdam or Karlsruhe on the computer screen, whereas the streets are lined with continuous juxtapositions of interwoven pieces of text instead of buildings. This work is famous for being an early representative of interactive art.
