- Satirical drawing of Jacques Chirac, mayor of Paris and opposition leader
with a crown, following is a text: "Chirac est triste, Le Roi des Cons
est Mort," in reference to the death of King Baudoin of Belgium.

- Belgium: The Law of the 6th of April 1847 still applies in the Belgium
Kingdom against any offense on the personal of the King with a penalty of
6 months to 3 years of jail and a fine of 30,000 to 300,000 FB (6,000 to
60, 000FF) for anyone who posters, distributes or sells texts that could
constitute an offense on the image of the King.
- Results of incident
- Belgium: 1,500 copies of the journal were sent back to the editors by the
Agences Messageries Beiges, Charlie Hebdo's distributor in Belgium. For
fear of the consequence of the Law of the 6th of April, 1847, the 1,500
copies were also blocked by the Belgian police upon their arrival on the
morning of August 6, 1993.
