Artists

GUSHIKEN Yusuke

Born 1989. Graduated from the University of the Ryukyus, Faculty of Education, in 2013, and completed studies at the Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences [IAMAS] in 2017. The central theme of his work is “hearing/listening to sounds,” inspired by the fact that people may perceive the same sounds in the same environments differently depending on their individual interests and experience. Through his creative endeavors, he aims to become aware of his own “way of hearing/listening” to sounds, recognize the individual differences in human acoustic perception, and further expand the possibilities of listening to a variety of sounds.
