ICC Kids Program 2008
Transform yourself

Outline

The ICC summer school holiday season Kids Program consists of exhibitions, workshops, theater programs in a comprehensive program for the people of all ages. In this year's ICC Kids Program we welcomed SATO Masahiko and KIRIYAMA Takashi of the Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts. Under their supervision, we present the exhibition "Transform yourself," focusing on inherent sensibilities and intentionalities within all of us.
We understand the world by unconsciously reconstructing the audio, visual, tactile, and other sensory information into a certain understanding of ourselves. In this exhibition we introduce works which use contemporary technologies for producing new forms of sensory coherence and incoherence.
Parts of your body are transformed by various image technologies, and latent senses and capabilities are stimulated. Through such experiences, you are provided an opportunity to think about how our sensory information is assembled in perception. Then perhaps we can gain a new view of expressions by applying knowledge from cognitive psychology and behavior analysis.
