Playables, the duo of animation artist Michael FREI and game designer Mario von RICKENBACH, exhibit three minimal works made entirely of black and white elements.

“Plug & Play” is the game version of FREI’s short animated film of the same title, depicting emotionless interactions of male and female plug people. Here it is exhibited alongside the “Review Reader” that reads comments from YouTubers and reviews on major platforms such as iOS and Steam, and sprite sheets as used as game components, to visualize the existence of a community and economic sphere related to indie games.
