Suguru Ishizaki is Assistant Professor of Communication Design at the School of Design, Carnegie Mellon University. He teaches communication design and design for digital and interactive media. His research addresses communication methods that are unique to digital media, particularly focusing on kinetic typography and visualization of complex information.

His professional work includes interaction design, software development consulting, interactive diagramming, and print design. B.A. in Design, University of Tsukuba, Japan; M.S., Ph.D., MIT Media Laboratory.
