Preface

NTT InterCommunication Center [ICC] is pleased to present, Studio Azzurro "TAMBURI" ćƒ¼Embracing Interactive Art.
Formed in 1982, Studio Azzurro is a production group based in Milan, Italy involved in diverse forms of video expression such as environmental video installations and collaborations with theater. In 1995 Studio Azzurro began developing interactive works that explore the unity between the video expression and the environment and got international acclaim. Their work presented at the ICC Biennale '99 in 1999 is fresh in our memories for headlining the coming of age of media art.
ICC is presenting Studio Azzurro's show consisting of two works, one new and one old. The first is Coro, created in 1995 when they added a new member and started to create interactive work. The second is the large-scale new installation entitled Tamburi. This work challenges our imagination and deepens the possibilities for artistic expression of interactive art and consequently the new century.
In closing, we would like to express my deepest appreciation for the great help of members of Studio Azzurro and offer our thanks to all those who cooperated in helping us to realize this exhibition.
