etoy

"etoy" is a formally registered corporation in Switzerland. The company issues stocks for the art market, creates value, holds shareholder meetings, and pays dividends. They do not operate metaphorically; they are an actual active incorporated company. The large difference between etoy and the average corporation is that they create cultural value instead of monetary value. The CEO, etoy.ZAI, explains: "Andy WARHOL used the metaphor of a manufacturing company, and called his art production group a 'factory.' etoy, using the metaphor of the information society, is an 'investment bank' for the art world."
